Easily connect an HDMI or VGA monitor to the VS360HD VisualStation Video Decoder from Synology in order to view live video of up to 36 IP cameras at up to 1920 x 1080 resolution. This video decoder connects to a router via its RJ45 Ethernet port and pairs with your Synology NAS running Surveillance Station 7.0 and above and allows you to monitor and control your IP cameras without a computer. Connect amount, keyboard, or joystick for complete control, including PTZ control. Recordings and snapshots can be stored on a USB drive (available separately). This video decoder supports H.264, MPEG-4, and MJPEG codecs for high-quality playback and because it features no moving parts, it is less likely to become damaged while in use.
Designed for small offices and home users, the DiskStation DS218 2-Bay NAS Enclosure from Synology allows users to share and synchronize files across multiple devices and public cloud storage services from virtually anywhere, while also helping to boost work productivity, enhance team collaboration, and engage in real-time 4K H.265 video transcoding. It is equipped with two drive bays that are capable of natively supporting 3.5″ SATA hard drives, as well as 2.5″ SATA hard drives and SSDs. Using its dual drive bays, this NAS will allow you to store and share a large number of files, including videos, music, photos, and documents with up to 2048 user accounts.
The DS218 runs on Synology DiskStation Manager (DSM) OS, which is a browser-based operating system that helps to simplify managing your Synology NAS. Its CPU is a 1.4 GHz Realtek RTD1296 Quad-Core, and its 2GB of DDR4 RAM allows frequently-used files and applications to be quickly accessed. The NAS is capable of achieving sequential read and writes speeds of up to 112 MB/s, while a dedicated hardware transcoding engine can transcode 10-bit 4K H.265 video on the fly. Also featured are two USB 3.0 Type-A ports and one USB 2.0 Type-A port, which allow it to be connected to your Windows or Mac system, and network connectivity is achieved via the integrated Gigabit Ethernet port, allowing your stored data to be shared with users throughout the network. Data may also be made remotely available through the free iOS and Android applications. Using the integrated 4K multimedia server on the DS218, Video Station and DS video can be used to convert and play 4K videos from most computers, mobile devices, and other media players that don’t support Ultra HD formats.
Well-suited for large-scale enterprises with demanding business applications, the RackStation RS3618xs 12-Bay NAS Server from Synology helps simplify data management, optimizes virtualization environments, and rapidly expands storage capacities. This unit has 12 drive bays, each of which natively supports 3.5″ SATA hard drives, as well as 2.5″ SATA hard drives and SSDs. Should users need to expand the overall capacity of their RS3618xs, the optional RX1217/RX1217RP expansion units offer an additional 12 drive bays, and two of these units are supported via integrated expansion ports.
The RackStation RS3618xs is powered by a 2.4 GHz Intel Xeon D-1521 Quad-Core processor, which will allow you to run multiple functions simultaneously. The built-in 8GB of DDR4 ECC RAM will allow quick access to frequently used files and programs and may also be upgraded to a total of 64GB by installing four 16GB modules into the available memory slots. Also featured are two USB 3.0 Type-A ports, which allow it to be connected to your Windows or Mac system. Network connectivity is achieved via the four Gigabit Ethernet ports with failover support, which help to provide redundancy in the case that a LAN connection malfunction occurs on one port. In addition, link aggregation, powered by four LAN ports, helps to increase connection speeds beyond the limits of a single network port or cable. If you’re looking to expand this NAS, there are two PCIe Gen 3.0 x8/x8 slots that support a 10GbE NIC and the M2D18, a dual M.2 SATA SSD adapter card for creating an SSD cache.
