The VS960HD VisualStation Surveillance Station from Synology allows you to connect up to two displays and supports up to 96 IP cameras and 4K UHD resolution. This device connects to a router via its RJ45 Ethernet port, and pairs with your Synology NAS running Surveillance Station 8.0.2 or above, enabling you to monitor and control your IP cameras without a computer. Connect a mouse, keyboard, or joystick to the USB 2.0 ports for complete control, including PTZ control. Via the USB 3.0 port, recordings and snapshots can be stored on a USB drive, which is available for purchase separately. This device supports H.264, H.265, MPEG-4, and MJPEG codecs for high-quality playback. It has no mechanical moving parts, so it is resistant to vibration and hardware failure. It comes with an RJ45 LAN cable to connect to your router and a VESA mounting kit which enables the device to be mounted on a wall or on the back of a screen.
DDR3 has arrived. New chipsets and processors from AMD® and Intel® now support memory operating at 1600MT/s (aka 1600MHz). DDR3-1600 memory has a module classification of PC3-12800, which effectively means the peak data rate of the module is 12.8GB/sec (see table). That’s about a 17% improvement on memory bandwidth over DDR3-1333.

The 1.92TB SAT5200 SATA 2.5″ SSD from Synology is an enterprise-grade SSD built for select models of their NAS systems, including the FS6400, FS3600, and FS3400. It provides stable I/O performance and reduced latency for critical services and applications and is also able to handle mixed and intensive 24/7 workloads without reducing its endurance. All of these facets will provide users with a streamlined experience with minimal service disruptions.
This SSD has an overall capacity of 1.92TB, a SATA III 6 Gb/s interface, a 2.5″ / 7mm form factor, sequential read speeds of up to 530 MB/s, sequential write speeds of up to 500 MB/s, random reads of 98,000 IOPS, and random writes of 60,000 IOPS. It also features an endurance of 4581TB TBW (terabytes are written), 1.3 DWPD (drive writes per day), a 1.5 million hour MTBF (mean time between failures), and an UBER (uncorrectable bit error rate) of <1 sector per 1017 bits read.
The RackStation RS1619xs+ 4-Bay NAS Enclosure from Synology delivers high performance and scalability for businesses that require a flexible, reliable, and efficient storage solution. This unit has four drive bays, each of which natively supports 3.5″ SATA hard drives, as well as 2.5″ SATA hard drives and SSDs. Should users need to expand the overall capacity of their RS1619xs+, the optional RX1217/RX1217RP expansion units offer an additional twelve drive bays.
The RackStation RS1619xs+ has a 1 RU form factor is powered by a 2.2 GHz Intel Xeon D-1527 Quad-Core processor, which will allow you to run multiple functions simultaneously. The 8GB of DDR4 ECC RAM will allow quick access to frequently used files and programs and may also be upgraded to a total of 64GB by installing a 16GB module into the four DIMM slots. Also featured are two USB 3.0 Type-A ports that allow it to be connected to your Windows or Mac system. Network connectivity is achieved via the four Gigabit Ethernet ports with failover support, which help to provide redundancy in the case that a LAN connection malfunction occurs on one port. In addition, link aggregation, powered by four LAN ports, helps to increase connection speeds beyond the limits of a single network port or cable. If you’re looking to expand this NAS, there is one PCIe 3.0 x8 slot that supports x8 cards and can be used to install a 10GbE/25GbE NIC for fast data transmission. Furthermore, dual M.2 2280 slots support NVMe and SATA SSDs for caching.
